    • Electronic Data Collection: A practical guide to using XLS forms, ODK and Enketo

      Welcome to the LSHTM ‘Electronic Data Collection’ course, run by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine Open Research Kits group. This course is intended to provide a practical step-by-step guide to those wishing to collect data electronically using freely available software tools.

      Objectives and Assessment

      We hope by the end of this course you will be able to:

      • Appreciate the benefits of using electronic data collection, the background to Open Data Kit and data encryption
      • Design a data entry form
      • Create a form for ODK and Enketo
      • Download and decrypting the data for analysis
      • Troubleshoot common problems independently

      This is a free course aimed at providing a suite of resources to enable you to collect data yourself electronically. As such, there is no assessment associated with this course, and no credit awarded for completion. The taught elements of the course will take approximately 1 hour to complete. The exercise will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
